Этот перечень ни в коем случае не является законченным. И хотя многие традиции в той или иной форме повторяют эти основные положения, у каждой из традиций есть свои принципы, предписания и свой язык. Каждый из нас находит свое направление и, согласно своим нуждам, создает собственный стиль. При помощи некоторых новых средств мы продолжаем свой путь домой и благодаря поддержке сообщества единомышленников наши шаги становятся более уверенными.

Благодаря практике покорности и принятия мы каждый день наслаждаемся передышкой от своих зависимостей. Руководствуясь новыми психологическими и духовными картами, мудростью, приобретенной на опыте, и помощью других, мы продолжаем идти через все большие приключения. Мы проживаем свою жизнь, делая в каждый момент времени один шаг, продвигаясь вперед, но не предвкушая совершенства. В процессе устранения блоков, отгораживающих нас от знания своих внутренних возможностей, мы утоляем в себе жажду целостности и заполняем экзистенциальную пустоту.

Плывя по течению жизни, мы чувствуем волны спокойствия, приятия и радости. Мы возвращаем себе ключ от дверей рая и, отворив эти двери, вновь обнаруживаем свой дом, который имели и прежде, но не знали об этом. Мы понимаем, что тщетный, мучительный и разрушительный поиск смысла жизни во внешних вещах был неправильной стратегией. Ведь мы, не зная того, все время носили в себе все наши вопросы и все ответы на них. Кабир пишет:

Все наше путешествие по жизни, ведущее к дому, — это путешествие героя. Возвращаясь к Истинному «Я», мы осознаем, что предмет наших поисков всегда был рядом с нами. В конце своих приключений мы вполне можем вернуться туда, откуда начали свой путь. Т. С. Элиот в своей поэме «Четыре квартета» пишет:
